Two lights are lit for Shabbat, representing the two commandments regarding shabbat - to observe and remember the Sabbath. The Hebrew line from Lecha Dodi, "Observe and remember, in one word",  is carved into the walnut bases of the lathe turned candlesticks.

Custom Carving Judaica offers Shabbat candlesticks for use with oil, candles, or both.  Borosilicate glass (pyrex) fittings are hand blown and properly annealed to prevent cracking under dramatic temperature changes.  Specially designed oil fittings come with wicks and are easily fillable from the side with lighting oils, which in turn do not burn the wicks when lit and thus need only be refilled with oil each week and lit.  $275
